Mesmerized. Speechless. Inspired. That’s how I felt the day I first stepped into my father’s office in Rome. Flags from almost every country in the world surrounded me. Even then, I knew what I wanted—to help people from all cultures, learn their stories, and ease their struggles. I followed in my father's footsteps, but made the path my own.
My youth was spent between Budapest, Vietnam, Thailand, Egypt, and Italy. Later, I called Rome home, then Amsterdam, and now Lisbon. Being an expat both as a child and adult gave me deep insight into what it means to live abroad—something I bring into my work today as a psychotherapist.
After working on international projects in economics, I eventually shifted toward a more personal mission: helping individuals navigate everyday challenges with confidence and clarity. Now, as an expat therapist in Lisbon and an experienced psychotherapist in Portugal, I support clients from more than 45 countries. Each story is unique, but many of the struggles are universal. My role is to adapt known therapeutic approaches to each person's cultural lens, so they feel understood, not just treated.
At home, I’m a proud mother of three vibrant children—athletes, musicians, artists, and constant sources of inspiration. Their energy keeps me grounded. Outside of work, I travel often and stay closely connected to a wide circle of friends across different countries and backgrounds. This ongoing exchange is my lifeline and keeps me sharp.
After 16 years in practice, I decided to start sharing what I’ve learned—through writing. These blog posts reflect real conversations and patterns I see in my work with expats, as well as my own lived experiences. Whether you’re looking for a remote therapist in Portugal or simply seeking support while living abroad, I hope these stories remind you that you’re not alone. We are in this together. And we are healing together.
